Named after Professor Wistar of Philadelphia.
It is best grown in a sunny position doing well on a south wall. Will grow in any soil taking a year or so to become established. Wisteria can grow up to 100ft and can make a trunk up to 5ft girth.
The racemes of fragrant flowers are up to 5ft long on established plants.
