People PhotographyTaking pictures of people can be a fascinating subject. Whether it is of people going about their lives or of family and friends, it doesn't matter. The ideal lens is one that has a focal length of between 80-100 mm. This will give a close photo of a person in focus but with a background out of focus to make it stand out. Make sure the background is uncluttered and use a large aperture when taking the photo as this will help to drop out the background further. If taking a shot of a persons head and shoulders, focus on the eyes. Position the person slightly to one side of the picture looking into it. People at work or playing sport can make interesting photos as they are usually unaware of the camera and therefore more natural. When taking shots of people moving i.e. cycling, running etc. use a slower shutter speed to get some movement blur on the photograph. Use a long focus zoom lens if you want to get candid photos of people in a market or crowd etc. |
