Flora & Fauna Photography

This subject is one that every person can take without having to go very far from the house. The garden supplies many interesting shots with close ups of flowers, plants etc.

The closer you can get the more interesting it becomes in showing the finer detail and colours of the subject. Ideally a macro lens is best as it can reproduce a sharp image from a few inches away. This can be found on some zoom lenses, it is also possible to fit a close up filter to a lens. Most digital cameras can take photos from a close distance giving you this facility.

Animals and pets make great photos if you can catch them at the right time. Get someone to stroke your dog or cat to calm it and when it is in a good position, get the person to move away as you take the picture. Cats love pieces of wool dangling in front of them and will get into some nice poses just keep the wool out of camera shot.
