Architecture PhotographyWhen taking large buildings close up, a problem arises in having to tilt the camera upwards to get all the building in. This creates what is known as converging verticals.Professional architectural photographers use a shift lens to correct the problem. A way to get around this is to get further back from the site and use a longer lens to fill the viewfinder. If it is possible take it from a window or a hill which is higher up or take sections of the building which have points of interest. Try to frame it with an arch or tree in the foreground giving it more interest and composition. Use a person or object in front of the building to give a sense of size. |
